New Magazine Helps Spread the Wealth

"Contribute"contributemedia, which premiered in April, helps donors explor their options in the increasingly compledx field of philanthropy.  The landscape has changed since 9/11 says the editor.  "People are not content to be simply passive anymore, they’re beyond writing checks.  They’re jumping in feet first".  People want to make a difference by working for or investing in companies that do good work and by investigating the efficiency of charities. 

The magazine reviews nonporofits .  Phialanthropy has gotton more diverse too, with more mony coming from middle class donors.    The magazine is now available only in a New York metro edition, but is schduled to expand to 10 cities within the next three years with San Francisco next.  It is being mailed free to 65,000 "qualified donors" who gave at least $5000 last year and make at least $250,000  a year. Not a bad bunch to advertise to.
