I have an idea - Part Two

So now we are starting to get somewhere. The first step when you have something you think is worthy of a Springboard award is to pick up the phone. Who do you call? Well you call an interesting fellow named Randal Moss. Randy is the National Project Manager at the Futuring and Innovation Center. Randal is also an overall good guy and a fellow wave maker in our organization. After telling Randal your idea he will chew it around and give you some good advice. Another good advice man is David Collin in the California Division. Of course he is a fellow wave maker as well..Hmm am I seeing a pattern here?

At this point you have several options. You can make your changes and go ahead and submit it or you can run it by some people in your office. For C-Tools 2.0 I ran with it. I didn’t ask anyone in my Division. For my current idea I passed it around the office and even up to some folks at NHO. Both ways have their advantages and disadvantages. But in the end you do want to secure some good buy in for your idea. And if you pass it around your office someone might want to fund it right then and there with existing budget. No application needed. You never know till you try.

Now if your a volunteer with an idea stop reading this and go here. We are always looking for great volunteer ideas. Well maybe check with your staff partner at least once. ; -) So right now I have sent the idea near and far and am working on my changes. Next week we submit. I am excited either way…

Thanks,
David

Hi, I just wanted to point to the smokefree illinois campaign that is using a blog
    http://www.smokefreeillinois.net/blog/
and also youtube to share the testimony of Lisa Crista (I have collected the useful urls on a post on http://www.glkvideo.com).
I still dream of convincing organizations (including ACS) that are sitting on scores of anti-smoking TV ads to collect them and post them on line. I am working on several projects to make access to anti-smoking clips on line easier. If there is anybody who would be interested I could talk with at ACS that would be great.
I wonder if you know of other local ACS groups using blogs and youtube in anti-smoking campaigns.
