Signs of the times

In this morning’s Washington Post an article appeared about why two Detroit newspapers are cutting back home delivery to three days per week.
Fighting to stay in business, Detroit’s two daily newspapers will cut home delivery to three days a week, print smaller editions on other days and encourage people to get information online.

Friday, December 12th, 2008

I’m a believer that the future belongs to video. I assert that the dominant communications medium from here on is the internet; the primary character of that medium will be video; and online communication will, therefore, require video skills.
The data below suggests why I think this is the case. Cisco Systems–a key supplier of hardware [...]

Guest Post from I LIVE HERE I GIVE HERE

Friday, December 12th, 2008

The headlines have made it official: we’re in a recession.
In truth, this was no revelation. The economists’ facts and figures only confirmed what most of us have been feeling for some time now – painfully pinched. Like many of you, I’m making instead of buying my morning coffee, pushing my running shoes to go [...]

Organizing without organizations: stroke 2

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

In yesterday’s post I focused on the growing perception by some people–especially young ones–that traditional cause-oriented organizations aren’t very agile, and it’s difficult to have much influence in them.
